Shooting classic traffic and lights at night

I've just watched Barry on Youtube explaining how the HVX with a tweak to the scene file can record those slower blurry traffic scenes where the cars leave trails etc.

That is what I want to do with the HPX170 - anyone have any other tips for this camera (HPX170) to create this short of footage. Or how does what Barry does to the HVX relate to the HPX?
 
Read the Barry Book that probably came with your camera (unless you are outside the U.S.?), the frame rate hack is all detailed in the book.

2fps with 350d shutter.
