Hello,

I need help shooting video at 59.94Hz. I can't get ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed to work independently like I can in 24Hz Cinema mode. There seems to be some type of automatic exposure compensation happening even when I'm in "M" or "C1" modes. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Where are you seeing this auto exposure compensation? It it actually showing up on your histogram and zebras? Can you see the video getting lighter and darker when viewing it in post?

I'm seeing it in the histogram and LCD. When I play the vid back on the computer it's there. What's most odd is before I press the movie record button I have control over aperture, SS, and ISO, and everything works as should. When I begin recording, all parameters disappear and the auto exposure kicks in (image immediately gets brighter, I'm in a dimly lit room). I dunno.

Shooting specs: 59.94Hz, FHD 60p, 200mb All-I, in "M" mode

Do you have the dial set to M mode or do you have it on the Creative Movie Mode (Movie Camera Icon) and set to M within that mode?

Okay, I wasn't in movie mode. Oops. User error, as usual.

Appreciate all the help! Thanks!

Yep, it seems the consensus is that the camera will go into automatic exposure whenever you start recording from a picture mode. Creative movie mode is the way to go for video!
