Hey guys,
Been thinking of doing an action/fight project with my friends so started a few camera tests. Primarily I need to learn how to shoot this sort of thing as I have never done any thing like it before. My first test was rubbish. I upped my shutter speed to 120th of a second and dropped my frame rate to 23 fps for my second test, much better. I was surprised just how much I had to think about positioning the camera to get an ok result.
This was shot with no lighting, just interested in the action and framing.
Here is the second test:

Has any one got some advice as to how to approach filming action scenes and the like? Also any post tips or camera tips are totally welcome.
We are gonna just keep practicing and see how we go. I have noticed how some movies are much wider and open, showing off the martial arts. While others are much closer and can convey a sense of whats going on more than showing it. Ill try many options as we go.
Side note: I pluged the AF102 into a TV for the first time and was amazed at how much better it looked on the TV than on my computer screen.
