shooting a resolution chart

Im wanting to test my 35mm adapter (yes another one) by shooting a resolution chart.

The only one I have is one I printed out from a pdf online (forget where I got it). It is an 8x10 from a laser printer, so its pretty sharp.

Anyway, my question is will this chart be good enough to qaulify results from and what exactly do you do when you shoot it? Just a few seconds of it, or more? Do you pull stills from it?

Dumb it down for me :) Thanks!

Shoot your resolution chart full frame (paying attention to the alignment marks if present), just a few seconds and then extract a frame from the acquired footage. Be certain that it is properly exposed and flatly lit. Be sure to save the captured frame with a high resolution file format (Tiff is great) and then read the chart looking for the place where the parallel lines become indistinct (this is the subjective part). The corresponding number is the approximate resolution. Be sure to post the grab so that others here can see what you are obtaining.
