Shooting a Humming Bird

I have a humming bird nest outside my front window and have shot some pretty cool footage thus far. I set it on 60 FPS but it still does not look slow motion. Anyone have any ideas how to capture the real slow mo??? Would it involve the syncro scan?? if so any idea of settings to use....?? Thanks for your help.

You can slow the buggers down by setting the camera to record 24PN and setting the framerate to 60, but don't expect to freeze motion.

Wwhhooaaa!

Blaine,

Stop!

Do you mean a 12 gauge gun for the bird? Or a nice shotgun microphone?

Got pretty good footage of a production I'm working on with two Red's with the family bird flying away... Geez, I feel like I'm goning to be hit by lightnig....

2.5x overcranking isn't going tobe enough for that.

Wow!

That was shot by a camera called a "Phantom" you can rent them. I rented one for a week to capture lightnig at 1000 fps... In a high resolution...

yeah you definitely need a phantom to achieve that. They came to my internship to perform a demo in the studio of the phantom, and it's simply incredible.
