Shooting a direct sunrise

Re: Shooting a direct sunrise

I have never had a problem shooting a sunrise with a 2/3" CCD Pro camera. It shouldn't be a problem with the DVX. It is not like the old camera tube days when you had to worry about burning the image into the tube. I shot a sunrise from Cadillac Mt. in Bar Harbor Maine. I set my camera to 3200K preset. It produces a nice warm sunrise. You can also use a Tiffen 812 warming filter to make it warmer. Exposure is the big challenge. It depends on the shot you want. Some clouds in the sky also help produce the red/yellow hues.

Re: Shooting a direct sunrise

but there are definite instructions written on the camera NOT TO POINT THE CAMERA TOWARDS SUN AS IT MIAGHT DAMAGE THE INTERNAL PARTS>>.

Or is it just the sunrise and sunset that we can shoot.....witout concerns of damaging the camera......may be initial few mins, when much heat of the sunlight is not there.??????
