Shooting 60fps and re-timing to 30fps. Shutter Speed question

I am about to DP a series of lifestyle spots for HGTV. For me at least, this is my biggest gig yet and I don't want to mess it up.

It will be delivered in 29.97 fps. The Director and I were contemplating shooting it all in 60fps on the FS700 and then time remapping it back to 29.97 if we want the shot in real time. I've notice that when you speed ramp footage back to 24fps or 30fps, it can have a bit of a stutter, obviously due to higher shutter speed.

My question is, if I shot the 60fps at a shutter speed of 60 instead of 125 (the closest to 180 degrees on the FS700), would that make the motion blur look correct when we speed it up to 29.97.

The other option is to do 2 takes on each shot, slow motion and regular speed; but that's a pain and these are suppose to be lifestyle type shots, so the spontaneity might be lost.

The last job I shot for them was all in 60fps and the client loved it, but it was Rose Parade footage which is perfect for slow motion. This time we are having a bunch of actors doing their thing so slow motion might be redundant with talent

What do you guys recommend?

I think 1/60th second will be fine, especially if you want to do retiming. 1/125 will definitely have a shutter effect feel, which the audience will read as something 'off'. In contrast, as they don't watch too much stuff in 60fps slow mo - they have less of a preconceived idea as to what is 'normal' for that. Which is to say, the will notice the shutter effect when retimed to 30fps, but wont notice the 'extra' blur on the 60fps stuff.

One thing you need to think about, however, is sound recording. If you shoot in S&Q mode, then you'll get no audio. If you shoot 60p you'll get audio, but you'll have to retime that separately to get 30fps audio from it. So make sure you talk to whoever is doing the audio post!
