Shooting 30p for web video

I hate assumptions, and right now I seem to have too many about an upcoming job. The project manager has mentioned that he needs a camera capable of 30p (progressive) for a web video.

I've only shot in 60i, scene file 1 since owning the camera. I could use a quick verification of my logic/steps involved if someone has a moment.

When I access the recording setup menu I see Progressive ON/OFF along with some framerates. I am assuming that I simply put the camera into scene 1, go into the record setup menu- select progressive ON, then chose 30p. From my tests this looks right and I see 30P onscreen, but I hate guessing.

If anyone cares to give a quick explanation of why 30p is used for web video, I'd love to get a conceptual grasp of that as well.

Thanks!
