Shoot 35 Support System Not Yet AF100 Ready

I was interested in the new Shoot 35 bundle of matte box, follow focus and support system which is offered at a very economical price for what appears to be solid equipment.

There is a disclaimer about compatibility for other than DSLR cameras in their marketing materials so I e-mailed them for a clarification. Wayne of Shoot 35 was very good to reply quickly with the following:

Hi Dennis

Thank you for your interest in our products.

The DSLRmount would not be suitable for the AF100 and I would advise to purchase a third party support system for this camera.

We are trying to put together a Support System for the AF-100 but we are a couple of months away yet.

Thanks,

While this is a bit frustrating, it's better to know it before ordering than after.

Hi Guys

Just to clarify the Support Systems we have available.

The DSLRmount is not suitable for the AF-100 and we have not yet got a package deal with the CINEbox, CINEfocus and a Support System targeted for the AF-100.

We have however got our Rod Support System r2 which could be used but we are trying to modify this slightly to make a Support System, CINEbox and CINEfocus package for the AF-100.

Editman,

I have just ordered the following: Cinefocus, Cinebox and Rod support R2 with tripod bracket and blade clamp. Will I be able to make it work with an AF-100 with these elements? I am trying to decide whether or not to cancel some or all of my order and go with red rock micro. I was really excited about working with a small company like them but have grown leery very quickly. Everything I have heard from people who have used their gear has been fantastic.

The above is one manfrotto M577, one shoot35 rod clamp, two shoot35 tripod plates and I have my Manfrotto 504 plate mounted underneath. This is the most compact mount to use and you are almost standard 85mm lens center-rod center with the AF camera. Simple, elegant and inexpensive.

Thanks for such a quick reply. I am having a hard time visualizing what exactly you have there. Is there anyway you can shoot it from overhead. I can see the rod clamp and the 504 plate but am confused where the other 3 parts come into play. I am wondering if I should just go with the Red Rock support and the Cinefocus and Cinebox.

If you look at this:

And take away all the spacers you get almost the same thing.

I did find the item I'm using and it's this one:

I hope all is clear now :) I found everything under "Products" so they still everything in the store.
