Shogun or Ninja/Samurai Blade as a portable CC & Grading Monitor

Are any of you using/planning on using a Ninja/Samurai Blade or Shogun as an on-the-road color correction & grading tool? With the built in exposure tools & Rec709 calibration, it seems like they could be extremely useful for this.

I may even leave my Shogun (once I receive it) connected to my desktop at home as a third monitor, as I occasionally use After Effects to grade & it doesn't have the convenient live scopes that Davinci offers.

What are your thoughts on this? I've only owned the original Ninja & Samurai models in the past, and it definitely wasn't a consideration with those.

I would just use a decent retina laptop at that point. Color may be OK but noise, artifacting, etc. will not be accurate at all. That is wayyyy too small an image for any finishing. You can get scopes in any editing suite natively.

There is no substitute for a reference monitor. Sorry there just isn't. FSI is about as cheap as I'd go if it's going on air and you care about seeing an accurate image.

Im most definitely not talking about anything going on air. I just mean something more accurate than a MacBook, laptop or USB monitor.

This came to mind because I recently cut & delivered a music video on the road & don't really trust a MacBook screen for grading. Plus, it was too small for Davinci 11 so I had to use After Effects.

What's a good option for live scopes in After Effects?
