'Was filming at Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee, MA on Sunday and at 11am, Kent Shockley ran the Shockwave rocket-powered truck up to speed on the runway. Something went wrong for the first time in the nearly two decade history of that Peterbuilt truck on Chromaloy chassis, and I documented it with two XDCams at the show:

Heavy Duty Guardian Angel!

P.S. Is it just the compression or do the flames look like bad CGI on the original material too?

Probably the Cinema matrix that I used, with +20 saturation, followed by Adobe color corrector @ 120% saturation for this render. A lot of color oversaturated on this render to add 'vibrancy' to the online video.
Those flames were also brighter than the sun and we felt the heat from 1/4 mile away.

The cab of that truck is reinforced with a cross hatch of steel piping to keep it's shape, even with a 300mph impact. The rest of the truck was pretty much destroyed, but the cab held enough shape that the drive was able to open the door!
