Shipping Footage

Don't know where else to put this.
Need to send off a project that's about 40 GBs.
Considering dragging it onto an external hard drive and shipping.
Any tips on how to package so when postal workers go postal, damage will be at a minimum.
Bubble wrap enough to drop kicks proof?
Or should I just drive it from Toronto to California?
It's only five days!

Lately we've been shipping footage.
Use a small USB drive, they are so small and lite. See Amazon. Put it back in the packaging it came in.
Then put THAT box inside another with padding all around. Pack it well. Also look into putting files on a BluRay Disc.
Use FedEx or UPS.

yeah i ship footage on little 500gig usb seagate freeagent GO drives all the time. and have never had a problem.

about 3" of bubblewrap or packing peanuts on each side always works just fine.

I use a Verbatim 500 gig USB powered drive for big file shipping, it's been back n forth 1000kms round trip to a client, using normal post and express ,
so far all good, no great loss if it disappears or breaks, back-up of course first.

You can get a decent sized USB drive for under $40 now. At those prices, they're practically consumables.

Thanks. I'll go the bubble wrap route.
Or the barley box,...can always recycle that as beer!
Which has bubbles too,.....
Thanks
