So on another board a poster who attended a JVC event for the camera (just yesterday) mentioned a rep saying the first 600 into the states has been QC'd and sent to dealers. This is consistent with what I've been hearing, that this week is the week.

Anybody heard from their dealer today?

I heard from my dealer they were shipping to the US this week but would be in customs and we probably wouldn't see a camera until after the 5th

So obviously I was WAY wrong about last Monday being the day.

But a very trustworthy voice in my head told me a VERY small amount shipped yesterday to dealers.

I'm crossing my fingers that I get lucky...

I haven't heard anything yet. But I do suspect that a first batch will have gone out yesterday or today, just to fulfill the "August" promise on the website. Looks like the September predictions will turn out to be correct.

I got an email from Chris @ ZGC, Inc... Their first batch have shipped from JVC on Monday (08/29/05), and are they are expecting to take delivery by the end of the week.

I just got a call from my dealer that mine is enroute to him (I'm in Oregon) and I might have it by end of week. I have a gig taping some footage of Katie Harman (Miss America 2002) at the end of the week so if I get my hands on it I'll try it out on a pretty face.
