Shell Casings

Im currently working on a movie that has multiple gun sequences. I was thinking of using Non-Guns because i dont really have to money to go through all the steps to get a permit for Blank firing guns. Using Non-Guns doesnt really bother me,,,but i wanted to have shell casing falling to the ground and i was wondering if anyone knew how to get just empty casings?

your local gun club? I'd have thought they'd be chucking them out by the barrel load (unless they sell them to scrap metal dealers). Anyway, your local gun shop should have some contacts.

Most likely they re-load them but it never hurts to ask.

most gun clubs or shooting ranges usually reload them or sell them to recyclers. most places will give you a few but if you want a bunch they often will charge you by the pound what they get paid by the recyclers. it's only like $5 a pound though so it shouldn't put to big a dent in your budget

I bought a few containers of spent shells off eBay for $6.

Lol, I just go to the range and shoot rounds through my own guns if I need shells ;-)
