Last Weekend we went out and shot a Beautiful new music video for a really great band called Everfound. It was a great shoot that had a lot of ups and downs but in the end we got everything we needed. It was defiantly a race against time. We shot the story in the morning and the band in the afternoon. We couldn't have asked for a better day, there wasn't a cloud in the sky. It was one solid block of shooting with each person taking breaks in shifts except for my self for 13 hours.
This was a very low budget and the band and my self went halfs on the budget because i really just wanted to pay for a good product for both of us. Most everybody was working off of trades or favors, except for a few people. This is one of my babies, I worked on pre-production and over all planning for 2 months.

I will be updating this with behind the scenes and eventually the final music video.
I would love to answer any questions you may have.

For a few of the shots we had a track that was 119.05% speed of the regular song recording at 36 fps. We had a 200.01% track for the 48fps...but we didn't dare use it...it was way to fast.

Nice looking stuff. Are you happy with the sgblade? I'm two days away from buying a letus but that blade looks pretty nice too.

yay...Dillon ur back with another vid. Yow i luv ur stuff man....and get to live through you till i get a blade. I havent even watched it yet but if anything like swansong and the BTS then i'm siked. aight gonna watch now :)

I have never worked personally with the letus but (so i have heard) RR1 has an incredibly similar look to the Letus. And then you have RR2 which i always use for my music videos and boy can i tell you it gives you some amazing images. :)

Hey thanks man, that's really exciting that you follow my stuff. If you liked swan song this video is going to blow your mind. :)

luving it ...cant wait to see more.

question. why do u have to play the song faster?

It is a technique where you speed up the song for the band to play along with on set and at the same time you record slow motion. If you do this right when you bring it into your timeline the singers lips and the band's instruments will be in sync to the song but they will be in slow motion.

It's pretty complicated but if you look for it, it is in swan song plenty of times with the WS/MS dolly on the lead singer.

I'm sorry if I am missing something here. If you shot at 36fps, wouldn't that require you to play the sound at %133?

UPDATE: (VIDEO NOW POSTED): The video has now been released. Please feel free to comment or ask any questions regarding any part of the process it took to make this video and i would be more than happy to answer.

Just watched it. Wow. Super job here, man. The images are sharp. I like the silhoutte shots.

So for each shot/angle, did you have the entire group play through the song, or just the individual? I've never done a performance music video and I'm curious how you tackled this.

Thanks man,
Yes we did a little bit of both. Usually if i have the time i go through all of the angles and then i get a few insert angles to put here and there to keep things fresh.

Great job ,

I watched a few of your clips and I noticed how much you love Earth and especially dirt :)

PS : The singer and the drummer really broad it !

It's true, i like the nature so much. Nothing can beat being out in the fresh air while you are shooting. :) The band was really great and brought a lot of energy to the performance.
