New page to supplement my main KxS page:

So how big are your kahona's?
How bad do you really want your EX1's door to close with KxS?

Read it an weap

Edit:
WARNING: Do not try the shaving trick on your Sandisk Ultra II 16GB 15MbBps card unless you can see those markings on the back of the card as seen in the video on the page linked too on the page.

My cards do not have them and I started sanding the end of the card back, very slowly! I only got 0.9mm in and I could see the start of the circuit board and the side edge of the solder dots of the flash chip!

Luckily, because I took it so slowely, I stopped in time. No damage done but the inside is visible. A bit of Araldite on the end should secure that back up and this card can become my D90 card. These cards appear identical in contruction to the Transcend and can not be shaved!

Thanks guys! That was really great.

Maybe attach a little string on the end to be able to easily pull it off the reader?

Your'e da man!

You know I really hoped the inside of the card was as empty as that but I wasn't game to trash a card and SanDisk refused to send me this info when I requested it, but there you go, all done now!

In reality you don't need to cut quite as much off the card as you did, you could trim enough of to allow the door to close but leave enough on to allow you to extract the card from the reader by hand.

If however you are just allocating a single card to a single reader then you could trim it off flush (unless you want to get the card out to us a SD card reader to read the card off to a desktop without an Express Card interface).

I've got to link to your page, that is a scream, using wire cutters....

Yeah, I just kind of went crazy on the card. You should definitely be able to sand/dremel off a lot less so the door can close yet you can still get the card out of the card reader.

Thanks for the linkage!
