Sharpness

I do a lot of educational videos--talking head stuff. I'm new to the FS700, coming from the FS100 and EA50. I love the image on the FS700, but so far I'd like to get the image a little sharper.
Does anyone have suggestions on what settings to use to get the image crisper and sharper (without looking over sharpened, of course).

Just add some sharpening in post. The image, the appearing soft, is quite detailed and you'll find that adding sharpness to the FS700 files doesn't look artificial in the same way as some other camera such as the EA50 or most DSLR's. I think it's a combination of a proper, video-designed sensor which samples the image cleanly without adding aliasing artifacts (which really become noticeable with sharpening), and the the fact that it is not adding any sharpening to the image before compression/encoding.

Basically it means you have more flexible image in Post-production, but you have to treat it right to bring the best out of it.

May I ask which lens you are using with it? I've filmed with the Canon 24-105mm and everytime I see the footage, I wonder why I even need primes.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond.

I've used a variety of lenses. But rechecking a few clips I shot and exported I'm inclined to agree with you.
I just purchased the Sony G series zoom 18- 105 f4, and shot a few clips with face focus---and the footage was as sharp as I can make it on a good day with manual focus---and the focus was stable throughout the clips...with image in focus even during zooming.
I had this lens before and it worked great on the EA 50, but there was barrel distortion and other issues on the FS100.
I just recently read in these posts that the distortion and other issues were fixed with the Fs700 firmware upgrade, so I decided to use it again, and it works like a charm....in studio. Of course, you can't use that all the time in every circumstance, but it sure does a good job in its sphrereof limitations--which I about all I think we can expect of any piece of equipment.

Other lenses: Sigma 18-75 f. 1.8, several Canon lenses with Metabones (my favorite is Canon 35 2.0), several Canon FDs, 50mm, 55mm, 35mm, 24mm, from f 1.2 to 2.8, and 50mm 1.4, 1.8, Rokinon 1.5 35mm and 85mm.
I'm yet to use a lot of these on the FS700.
I think some of my "sharpness" issues has more to do with getting familiar with grading the Fs700 image and S-log 2. I think I need to work more with the p. profiles.
I'm glad to hear you can sharpen with less concern about the common issues that commonly plague sharpening in post.
Right now I use the sharpen tool in FCPX.
Would any of you suggest a better plug in for sharpening, because the FCPX tool seems...well, a bit primitive and very limited????
thanks for your responses.
