Just wonder, which way sharpening should be done - at camera or post in editing? Is there any diffeence in final guality?

How sharpening works?

How sharpening works?

Well, quiet here....

HVX picture is classified to be somewhat soft. I will repeat my question, maybe Jan knows the anwer? Is there any difference between in camera and in NLE sharpening?

If there isn't any difference, then I think sharpening in edit is easier, because you can control the look better? Am I wrong or should I prefer sharpening in camera?

If you're going to be running every frame of footage through post, then sharpening in post would give you more control and also slightly milder compression. If you're not running your footage through post, sharpening in-camera is preferable and instantaneous.

This speaks to my question on unsharp mask posted elsewhere.....Are you saying post sharpening has an edge (:)) on in camera sharpening or vice versa?
