Sharing tapes with other cameras

Here's a question related to the tape question in the News forum. Ok, I have two cameras, a DVX and a cheap little Canon for more risky stuff (stunt cam basically).

I've been reluctant to take my tape out of my DVX, put it into the Canon, record some stuff, and then put it back in my DVX for recording. It just seems like one of those things that you shouldn't do.

Is there any merit to this concern? Do you take the same precaution or does it even matter?

Thanks,

Tony

It should not really make any difference IF you are using the same tape brand all the time in BOTH cameras. Make sure you cue the tape up properly after changing cameras. The tape path may be slightly different in each of the cameras.
