This looks exactly what we all have wanted. My only concern is that it looks like it moves the handgrip even further right away from the camera body.

Yep. It appears to make the footprint of the camera massive. To borrow a Simpsons term, we need a debigulator, not a rebigulator.

I almost pulled the trigger on it as the quick release would be great but then saw how the handle veers more right. Why on earth would you design it like that?

They had to fit the quick release mechanism in there somewhere and still make it sturdy.

Just ordered it directly from Shape as B&H doesn't have it listed as yet but my shipping from Canada to Atlanta is $60 CAD, which at $1 US = $1.25CAD kind of in our favor and way below the $120.

One of the reasons I'm getting it is because I have the Tilta follow focus and the screw for mounting the unit to the rails sticks out far enough that I have to literally loosen the whole arm from the rosette in order to bring the arm all the way back for tripod use. Other follow focus devices have that screw coming in from the bottom. I was going to just have a screw hole tapped on the bottom but this handle replacement will also serve as a quick release for on the fly adjustment.
If it sucks, I'll just return it but unless you actually have it in hand, you'll never know.
I'll review it when I take delivery.

Allen, let us know how that works out. It sounds easier than my work around with the Tilta.

I'm glad Shape put a little JJ Abrams-class flare on their promo pictures, so we'd know where all the awesome bits are.

I picked one up and it is the bomb. Does all it's advertised. Quick secure release system make handle adjustment on the fly a no brainer. Handle now sits about an inch away from my brace. so I have total clearance. I highly recommend it.
