FS7: Shape lightweight bundle rig with follow focus?

Hello:

I am buying a Sony FS7M2 in the next few weeks, and I'm researching rigs. I didn't really want to buy one; from what I've heard, you can use it perfectly handheld or on the shoulder. However, there will be shoots where I'll be needing to use a follow focus (for more "cinematic" style shots with rack focus, etc.), and I'll need a rig to support it.

I've seen two Shape rigs that I like:

-The lightweight bundle rig (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1117565-REG/shape_fs7lwbr_sony_fs7_lightweight_bundle.html)
-The "regular" bundle rig https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1096903-REG/shape_fs7br_sony_fs7_bundle_rig.html).

However, Shape only offers the follow focus with the latter, which is more expensive, and I'm wondering why, since the lightweight rig does have 15mm rods too. If they aren't long enough, can't you just buy some longer rods separately?

I'd like to know about people using the lightweight rig with a follow focus: does it work as I think, or is there something more I'm missing? Also, can both of these rigs be mounted on and off a Manfrotto tripod quickly?

Thanks.

Bigger rig may be better/ more comfortable for handheld. But you will need a VCT plate to attach it to your tripod.
Bigger rig is also set up for dual handles - which can be nice for extended handheld takes. It is also designed to allow rods both in front and behind.
With the smaller unit, if you get the XDCA extension unit and v-mount batts for the back of the camera, it will probably be quite back-heavy on the tripod. The multiple mounting options of the VCT plate will allow better tripod balance with the larger unit.

Of course you can buy 15mm rods of different lengths. Not to mention plenty of adapters to connect things to them.
