Shameless question...

Question; With my luck, asking this is probably against some forum guideline (I hope not), but does anyone have, or know how I could aquire, a free copy of Premiere Pro?

I have the old Premiere, but with my 35mm adapter, I can't successfully flip the image without a lot of distortion (it winds up looking like an over compressed old school jpeg), and I was told Premiere Pro has much higher quality controlls over things like that, where you don't really loose any image quality.

Nevertheless, anyone out there? Let me know. Thanks.

Yup, if by "free" you mean "pirate", then yes, such discussions are very much forbidden on DVXuser.

Now "low cost" is an entirly different matter. MiniMan13's sugestion of buying an upgrade license for example is a good solid way of updating your software.

Another good place to look is in the DVXuser Maketplace towars the bottom of the forum index, software is sold there at good prices on occasion as people change systems or upgrade to new liecenses.

But if it's a pirate download link you are looking for, this isn't the place to find it.

..on top of what everyone else has said. to my knowledge you should not lose image quality in ANY copy of PPRO just by flipping the image. all you have to do is rotate the image 180 degrees in the moition/transform paramaters for the clip. or use the flip horizontal and vertical effects. there is no quality loss with either of thee methods (other than the inevitable single generation loss on output to your codec of choice) so im not really sure what you are doing to achieve the results you are seeing.

Ditto.

About the flip thing. I have heard that premiere does do a little thing when you flip footy. If it's anything like what EDIUS does to me, it's like this:

I flip, and I generally have a line at the (then) top of the frame, that appears to be the bottom of the frame being put at the top... It becomes very apparent in moving footage, as I can clearly see the bottom of the frame up there at the very top where it doesn't belong. It's not huge, and a teensie zoom will alleviate the issue, but it is annoying nonetheless. It's basically a few lines of vertical resolution worth. Is this something similar to what you see?

upgrade. try out the trial verison. No piracy talk allowed here for obvious reasons.

Well not a long term solution, and I don't know the restriction, but have you thought about the free trial from the website?

one other option is the student version of PP2.0, as long as you have a student ID and enrolled somewhere, even online. many sellers have big discounts for student version, works well, got mine for like under 200.
