Well mino, I kind of glad it wasnt just me and that I was feeling the vibe the wrong way. I mean how many of us are on multiple forums for multiple things besides film making and have never experienced this? I see it as more of a reinforcement that we have a strong, happy, helpful community that has a comradary(sp?) thats like no other. I only know of one person that used to be here when this fourm first started that left over a difference of opinion. I bet even after the DVX dies out and another camera takes its place many of us will still be here or start another forum for everyone to flock to. This has become more of a film makers forum than a camera specific one which is quite nice I believe. Some of the people here I feel I know even though I have never met them and Im willing to help them anyway I can. :)

Well, at the site is aptly named. :) Just from a quick look, it seems to have all the depth and knowledge of an AOL chat room. I'd say the message you got stems from the insecurity of the guy that started the site. I'd bet you made him feel really insecure at the get together because you actually know something about filmmaking. "Oh gee, how can I be the alpha dog if this guy makes me look like a newbie?" Consider it a compliment.

Exactly what I said. Poor bugger spent 5 minutes with Oppressor and got nervous. "How can I keep pretending to be the smartest kid in the class with HIM here - He must be disposed of"

Ok, ragging about another site here is one thing, but signing on to another site to stir things up is bad form.   It's immature and is a good way to start trouble on *this* site.  So what's to stop pissed off users from coming here and causing problems?  If you signed on at the other site to cause trouble, please think again and behave yourself.  If I have to deal with angry users from another site, I won't hesitate to bounce any forum members that stirred up the trouble.

Terrific--some bonehead just registered on the other site as DVXuserAvenger. Well, Mr. DVXuserAvenger, maybe you can do us all a favor and delete your username from that site.

Yeah, I don't know who it was, but someone registered there under the name DVXUSERavenger, which really isn't too subtle.

it's could turn into a bad situation where we have a whole bunch of kids (like the guy were all supposed to never talk about again) posting and posting and posting until this board is flooded with crap and useless info. just leave -em alone. .. let em play...

I recenly wen't to a film club in my city looking for people with equal or similiar knowledge of filmmaking and only found a group of 20 who were running around shooting the worst stuff, calling the xl1's the GL and asking which button again do I press to start the tape? Although I decided it would be pointless to join up with them or undermine what they do, some just like the thought that there doing something that makes them feel creative. I:E If there having a good time not doing it properly, and enjoy making crap, than let them.

Sometimes this board turns into such a soap opera.

Absolutely -- please leave them alone. No good whatsoever can come from starting trouble on another board, and it'll just be bad for us here.

Hum - I registered there as Monte - I wish to study them. Learn the ways of these simple people... and perhaps one day - I can learn to accept their culture and noobish ways...
