Shallow DOF?

Does anyone know a way to shoot a shallow depth of field using the HVX200? I have read that using a density filter and moving the camera back from the talent will create somewhat of the effect I'm looking for. Are there any filters or other techniques that will give my shots the shallow DOF of higher quality cameras?

Thanks much!

if audio isn't your problem, yeah just back the camera way up, and zoom in, maybe even use a polarizer. But thats the cheap way.

Best to get the Letus or RedRock Micro adapters, and 35mm camera lenses. Not much can be done in camera in my experience. A LITTLE, but not really noticeable.

In my experience backing the camera up and shooting at a longer focal length will create a bit more shallow DOF, but 1/3" chips are 1/3" chips.

Keep the iris under f4.0, zoom in as much as possible and make some distance between your background and subject.
