Hey, I have soome footage where I was holding the Camera to long and my hands started to shake a bit. I wanted to see if anyone knows of a program that can compensate for shaky footage, or if I can do this in vegas ?
Theres a program called steady hand by dynapel, it work ok on interlaced footage, but I haven't had much success with progressive. You'll just have to search the internet for it.
Anybody try the OIS feature on the DVX-100a? I know its a digital enhancement thing, so we are all pre-warned......but, does anyone think one might be able to get away with it if lighting conditions are good and we are running around a bit too much?
On a TV monitor, it looks good. Whether the camera be in 24p or 30p. now, 30p won't be as shaky do to the slower rate, so thats cool. Otherwise, I usually don't use OIS but at times its really tempting to do so.

OIS: Optical Image Stabilization.
It's not eletronic, it's actually the thing that makes the clunk noise while the camera is off. It won't degrade your footage.

ooohhh.......
Didn't know it was an actual mechanic thing that OIS. Thank you. Also, now I know what that clicking sound is. Panasonic wrote it off as just the way the camera was built, etc.
That being the case, I will use the little OIS now and then. Actually, it seems I can get away with it a bit more. Since this little camera is not like a betacam or HDcam, that little OIS can come in handy since it is resting in my hand, not on my shoulder.
yeah some people say the built-in OIS isn't very good but do a comparison with it off. You'll see a big difference with the OIS removing all the little shakes from the footage.
Oh I agree "ransom". It really helps stablize all those shakes from holding this camera handheld, LITERALLY. I mean, we are resting a bit of weight in our hand. So, yeah, that OIS can definatley be helpful. I think the other prosumer cameras OIS feature might be electronic, therefore I felt obligated to stay away from it. But its cool this camera has a mechanical OIS.

Nice....its like me asking at a restauarant where the bathroom is and I'm standing right next to it. ;D
can anyone share how the steps on how to use Steadymove on AfterEffects successfully? I was very dissapointed with the results because everything got very blurry after I used it.
I've only used it for 3-4 second clips. In Premiere I pretty much left it at the default settings. Maybe a little tweaking but not much. Sorry have not used it in AE.
