Hey DVXuser, I'm excited to announce my 3rd feature film. Shake The Lake.

This is also my first kickstarter project and the first time I've tried to raise a budget of partly other peoples money. I've never believed so much in a project before. 20 films and this one is the Gold Standard. We're pulling all the stops for Shake The Lake and using every favor, connection, ace up our sleeve we've got. When the project is right it's the only choice.

Anyways my first feature "Fathoms Deep" just got a street date release of August 8th so my schedule is free to work mostly on this. I look forward to posting updates and sharing the journey with you guys. I'd appreciate anyone who would be so kind as to like the films facebook page, check out the kickstarter (maybe donate a dollar or two) and help spread the word about the worlds first wakeboarding movie.

Step one: Get the word out to the wakeboard community via our executive summary packet.
Step two: Get the screenplay out and about in Hollywood.
When we hit 100 likes on facebook I'll upload another page from our executive summary. www.facebook.com/shakethelakemovie

Isn't it time Hollywood make a wakeboarding movie?

We see this (Sports Action/Comedy/Romance) as not necessarily a throwback to the wonderful but often "campy" summer sports films of the 1980's, instead as a film ahead of the curve. Hollywood is making amazing films today. In my opinion they are much better than what was being put out mid-90's to mid-00's. The films of those days were just stuffed with forced comedy and often sacrificed the integrity of the movie to garner a few chuckles.

I believe that although today's major films are "smart," "entertaining," and careful to please audiences, they're missing some of the simple fun that those 80's films so delivered on. We've designed a wonderful movie full of character and heart and disguised it as a summer blockbuster.

With that said we've gotten some frequent questions so I'll take the time to answer those below.

FAQ

Are you going to BRO out our favorite sport and make a cheesy embarrassing film that will tick off the wakeboarding community?

Most definitely NOT!!! We came up with a solid storyline and loveable fun characters. The plot of the film could stand on it's own. It's a bonus (a REALLY BIG BONUS) that we can set all of the above into the extreme sports community and wakeboard sport and culture.

What will the film be rated?

Shake The Lake was inspired by actual wakeboarding culture and Wake events/competitions. First and foremost we wanted to capture an accurate depiction of the lifestyle and feel of the riders, fans, events and companies involved. We didn't set out to make an R or a PG movie, we just wrote down the best story we could and in our opinion it sits right in the middle at PG-13. It has enough edge to keep the street credit high but there's nothing that would keep the youngsters from having a good time watching the film. We want this movie to do to wakeboarding what "The Fast and The Furious" did to import cars.

Very good idea. I'm wagering nothing but great success with this project, man. The materials are pretty cool, too!

Well now THIS looks interesting. My roommate covered the red carpet for this even two nights ago. It's brand new so there's a great opportunity if this works to be in on the ground level. Forest Whittaker's new production company is looking to produce a slate of 5 films in the next 12 months. It's another site where you post a project and get people to vote and if enough steps are fulfilled then Forest himself and the team look over your project and possibly green light it.

Now I doubt that Shake The Lake would be as appealing to Mr. Whittaker as he himself is taking roles in some of these films but at least it's another option to getting some more attention on what we're trying to do.

Maybe a few of you should create projects on Junto Box Films.... BUT FIRST CHECK IT OUT AND LIKE/FOLLOW SHAKE THE LAKE! :)

Thanks buddy. Hey I guess my first check from Nelson Madison is in the mail. I saw Beatmakers on the list too. Congrats. It feels good to finally be in the game. :)
