"Shades" production stills; online short

Yesterday we began shooting a short film entitled "Shades," which centers on a young man in a troubled relationship.

Shooting will finish on September 18th, and "Shades" will be available for online viewing the following week.

The quick production is for an upcoming project/contest.

Interesting. Is the second grab straight off the camera?

How did you set up the lighting in the last grab ?

Thanks for the great feedback.  I realize three grabs aren't much, so expect more once we resume (& finish) shooting on September 18th/19th.

Now, to answer questions...

Not quite - I did slight color correction.

It is downtown Davenport, Iowa, in my hometown (the Quad Cities).

We put worklights on the right side of the frame. As you can see in the first grab, the worklights are behind the wall, shining into the tunnel through the squares. All we had to do then is position the actors accordingly.

Did you crop these in post? Did you use the anamorphic adapter?

Cropped in post -- wish I had the money for an adapter though.

Awesome stills.

That tunnel shot rocks!

Lots of atmosphere in those shots. I can't wait to see the finished film.
