sgPRO footage (first weekend experience)

Went to a forest preserve with NO REAL PLAN--just to get some camera time with the sgPRO lens adapter. As with any adapter, there is a learning curve. I had fun though. Please excuse the video; the content and editing aren't my best. The questions at the end of each section (2 sections) are inappropriate, I know. And stupid, but it was late when I put it together.

Used Nattress, just a little, in post. CC blacks to -6. That's all.

Thanks.

BIG FILE SORRY. Takes ~3 min. Actually, I just tried it and you can watch it immediately without downloading it. ActiveX.

Music done on Sonicfire Pro 4, in case anyone wants to know.

Slightly different edit:

Hi Kyle,

I love the shots, your footage is the first i've seen nice scenic shots with the SGpro. Another peice I would like to put on my website

I started the morning with Nikon 85mm, but then I realized that my warm polarizer was on for nearly all of the footage-- the day was quite gloomy, so I thought it was just the gloom. I was wrong.

Then, I changed to Nikon 200mm--

Lenses are not wide open on any shot really, from what I remember.

With the adapter, my DVX set up is the same as I've seen posted by others: 74Z & 14 MF.

Your footage was very beautiful and peaceful to watch, liked the music as well. I'm very interested in seeing more of your footage. That adapter looks very promising.

Don't apologize for the questions, those questions make it art! haha, they got me thinking anyways... I see a lot of landscape footage at this site, and this is honestly one of the best landscape reels I've seen, the music was perfect, was it canned, from a program, or what? I want more... let's see it!

Wow--

You guys are WAY TOO KIND. I went out there without a plan. It's all in the editing I guess, because the shots themselves (I feel) are lacking.

Anyway. About the music-- Despite being a musician, I have opted to use Sonicfire PRO 4. Very easy to use, with an extensive library & the search feature is awesome. Relatively inexpensive, too.

Don't apologize for the questions, they make it an artform! haha, well, they got me thinking at least. The first and second shots are amazing, the haze in the background make the background look like a backdrop or something, I love it... You can tell it's early morning, this might have just been test footage, but you'll probably end up using it in a movie you make at some point. It's good to have footage from all times of day, but having said that: "it's better to have a gun and not need it, then need a gun and not have it..." - Quentin Tarantino

Sonicfire Pro 4 eh? Must be a Windows program?

Wayne:

Feel free to use the footage. No problem. I'll be heading out this week to log some more hours with the SGpro. Next location will have to be 'run and gun', though.

Wayne... Also

Shot some additional SGpro test footage this afternoon--

I will get it edited over the next couple days.

Hope you like it.

Hi Kyle,

very clean footage - I'm pretty amazed by what I see with the SGPro r2 - do you find it sharp at hi def (or is there some rez loss)? what about chroma fringing (something I see a lot of with GG adapters in general)

Many thanks

James

ah wayne,

Firstly big congratulations - all the footage I see from your product looks utterly stunning with none of the artifacting I generally associate with 35mm adapters. A big well done -

I've pm'ed you a couple of questions.

Thanks a million

James
