SGPRO Flip or not flip?

Wich set up is better in terms of sharp image, SG with flip or without it? I see the flip unit it,s no easy to mount with rails and it reduces a bit of light. I have an lcd monitor wich can flip the image.
I want to use with both dvx and ex-1.

What do you Think?

dvx will be fine non flip, but the ex-1 will need the flip with the new achromat that is currently in the works. It will be like 5 weeks for parts to come in though. Stay tuned to the sg pro latest news or main discussion for its release.

thanks , Arrik, but do you say that its better dvx with non flip? in terms of quality?

I'm a brevis owner, who recently added an sg pro to inventory. So I dont have much hands on experience with an SG, but the SGPro seems to have had great e2e results before the flip was even introduced. I think you'd be happy with the sg pro + dvx without the flip. Though, you'd probably be even happier with the e2e with the flip, as the flip seems to improve e2e on all cams.

There's gotta be a ton of dvx/sgpro footage and performance discussion on the board. Try givin search a go. I'd bet you'd find a thread that will help you make your decision. Good luck.

I was doing a steadicam job in a carpark yesterday and I took my FX1+SGflip and FD lenses. Having had a go in this kind of location, it really highlighted to me just how much light you loose using this adapter. If you have the light then its well worth the effort. if its a sunny day and you are outside then theres no problems, however if you are in a dingy dark underground carpark then you can forget it. We had a 2kw blonde with us but it just looked un natural with a one single light.
