SGM1X in Shoe Mount Safe

If you mount this with the shock absorber in the shoe of the DVX100B is it in frame? (no wide angle adapter)

Is it safer to mount it in the the holder that comes with the camera.

Just want to to make sure when I get the mic it is not in my frame!

Thanks

It won't be in frame.

But what are you planning to shoot with it? In any, say, narrative situation, your mic should never be mounted on the camera anyway.

Thanks David. I am heading to Lebanon to do some blogging/mini docuette works. It is just going to be me out there running around the country side, so that is why I am looking at the camera mount option.

This mic was pretty cheap, but still a step up from using the stock mic. It also comes with a shock absorber so I am hoping that reduces the handling noise.

I am also trying to be as discreet as possible =)
