SGblade

What is the reason for the ability to change the speed?

Does it change bokeh, sharpnes, flare?

Frank

The Blade has a significant advantage over the Pro, where it is now able to be turned up to eleven, at which setting the adapter also functions as a horizontal axis gyroscope rated for cameras up to 40lbs.

Also practical when shooting miniature stonehenge's

No, but seriously, the speed button is useful as when shooting at normal and lower shutterspeeds(1/25, 1/50) lower speed can be used to keep the noise from the spinning motor down. However, when shooting at higher shutterspeeds and shots of the sky, the speed should be set higher to eliminate flicker, grain and keeping the groundglass from becoming visible in your footage.

if the blade was the same price as the ultimate, id still go with the blade....

So I take it then you've used them both extensively to make that call? Aside from price, what are the distinct advantages of the Blade over the Ultimate based on your use of both?

How do the optics compare?
I just got the new mount from Letus - it has no play at all. How does it compare to Blades?
Is the edge to edge better on the Blade?
So I take it the back focus must be easier to adjust as well?
Like the Ultimate's can you verify if the ground glass post is mounted at two bearing points or just one? That's important to me in that it reduces the chance of the GG going out of true and eventually failing. That was a big problem I had with a previous adaptor - which I promptly unloaded.

Hopefully, I'll find the answers to these questions when Timur and I plan to take the blade for a spin in NYC around Tuesday. Anyone with an EX1 that would like to participate? Until then, which is better, is just speculation.

it's my footage. Doing the test with the Glass GG and the blade on the canon XH A1.

I'll have some footage up tonight with some dialogue. Improved little scene with my friend and i as we were taking down the set from a days shoot. So very rushed and very silly.

I believe you can download the file from the vimeo site
If not i will post it when im home tonight or tomorrow.

Hi, I am the PROUD owner of an SGBlade and I love it, I've been using a Redrock Encore prior and as much as I liked the Encore, I prefer the SGBlade in all areas. :-)
