SGblade

Holy mother Teresa!!!

I am in lust, but I don't know if I'll be able to get the Blade... I'd be getting the same GG anyway so there isn't "much" difference... just inproved in every single other area... hehe... what a DEAL! under $2,000 flipped and with rails!!!
With the Kinkn mount these will fly off the shelves like gas masks did a few years back in Iraq... untill the Ultimate get's it's price corrected... oh no you didn't

Very detailed progress report Wayne!
Nice to see all mounts are getting the special treatment.

Before NAB is a must! And I'd talk to the guys at Red and get a prototype Scarlet along side a 170!

Very exciting to read the progress reports Wayne. I'm especially excited about the X/Y adjustment as it should help with vignetting.

Looking forward to the Blade. Can you elaborate on how the lens mounts attach to the adaptor? Is it similar to the SG Pro. I found that system to incredibly secure and somewhat lacking in other adaptors. What will the warranty be?

I currently own an Ultimate, which I love but still look forward to running a drag race.

I think I read somewhere that the SGpro and SGblade lensmounts are interchangable.

They are just cooking up a pile of stainless steel back focus adjustable lens mounts for the SGpro, and those mounts will screw straight into the blade. No point doing two drawings...

I was woundering if the Blade uses the same spinning method that the Letus Ultimate uses. a spinning GG that spins off centre, which makes the adapter to be so compact.
that's why the blade is so compact right? does anyone know?

Here is a quick pic of our new stainless steel Nikon mount:

the lens mount is connected to sgpro and sgblade with 3 screws.
It has more holes because the SGblade can be mounted upright or upside down, so the mount needs to be attached the correct way in either orientation.
the backfocus adjustment is in realtime as letus ultimate, and i think that you have to screw-unscrew only two screw that are on the backfocus ring.the other holes that you see is only to attach the lens mount to sgpro.after that you don't have to touch it.

Yes, you loosen the 3 screws that hold the mount to the adapter, the lens/mount will go slack. You then apply rearward presure to the lens to take up the slack. Then with the allen key inserted into the grub screw of the outer collimation ring, the ring can easily be rotated and you can see the results update on your LCD or monitor, so it is very intuitive. Once you are happy, tighten the 3 scews back up, then the collimation rings setscrew.

so wayne,
what is that block and fix the collimation ring??
A:the 3 screws that hold the mount to the adapter
B:the collimation rings setscrew
C:both(A+B)=very solid

I am not sure I understand?

The setscrew on the collimation ring does not add to the stability of the mount, its only function is to keep the collimation ring in place when the mount is removed from the adapter, as not to loose your setting.

So the collimation ring is for back-focus? Increasing or decreasing the distance in minute increments between the taking lens and then GG?

Just want to make sure I understand how to work this thing all by myself.

Where does the X/Y adjustment take place? I guess somewhere in the adapter?
