This SGblade 35mm Adapter from Shoot35 is one of the best and most robust depth of field adapters available. I purchased this a little over a year ago and unfortunately the only use it has gotten has been me running tests on it to make sure it works properly. This comes from Shoot35 a UK based film equipment manufacturer which has developed this product to give Prosumer cameras the capability of shooting images with the beautiful shallow depth of field acquired by 35mm film. I purchased this particular brand and model after an extensive cost vs. quality analysis of many different adapters on the market. This particular package is equipped with a step down ring adapter allowing it to fit the Panasonic HVX200 (pictured, camera not included in auction). By removing the included step down ring, it will fit several other camera models including the Canon XH-A1, Canon XL1(XL1s & XL2), Panasonic DVX100(A&B), Sony FX1, Z1 and Sony Z7 and the Panasonic HPX170 and HPX171. Additional step down rings can be purchased to fit just about any other model of Prosumer camera. You can see the full list at their website. The auction also includes TWO lens mounts, one for Canon FD lenses and one for Canon EF lenses. The beautiful thing about the FD mount capability is that there are many inexpensive FD mount lenses available online which are amazing. To get the buyer started, I am including a Canon FD 50mm 1.8, very fast lens. Additional lens mounts are available to buy from the website for brands such as Nikon, Minolta, etc. as well a PL mount option for cinema lenses.
This adapter is a very robust, high quality spinning glass adapter. Spinning glass adapters are well known to give superior results compared to cheaper vibrating adapters. My package includes a flip module as well to correct for the inverted image that depth of field adapters inherently produce. Usually the upside down image that DOF adapters generate needs to be corrected in post production however some manufacturers sell an intermediate device which I have included that flips the image back, right side up and therefore avoids any annoying work in post. Even more importantly it allows for monitoring the image correctly during filming. Also included is the Blade Bracket which makes the unit easily adaptable with most 15mm rod support systems. There is no rod support system included in this package but I recommend getting something to help support the weight on your camera.
