Howdy HVXers in San Francisco,

I'm headed up from San Jose on Friday to shoot some Fleet Week events. I've actually secured media access for Friday and am pretty excited about getting to shoot some air show stuff. My big concern now is where in the frig should I park? I'm not at all familiar with the areas around Municipal Pier and am having a damn hard time finding info about parking lots/garages/etc really close to MuniPier where I can stay all day (i want to shoot the airshow practice and then stick around for the fireworks at 9pm).

I know there is parking near Pier 39 but I'd rather not hike that far.

thanks for any tips you can provide.

my advice would be to just drive around and look for a garage, theres lots of smaller lots scattered and just have to bite the bullet and pay the godly amount they are gunna charge. but if its for a project, then its worth it.

It could be possible to drive to a bart station like daly city and then ride into the city.

My office is in Petrero Hill. So parking is free. But anytime I head further into the city, I don't even look anymore. I just hop into a garage. They've got some more reasonably priced ones around the metreon, on 4th & Mission. It gives you a ways to walk or bus it up. But I've found their all-day rates to be more reasonable rates than right there off the piers.
