F55: Seven Colors

Haha, still awful grading as ever, and I'm surprised there's no 4k. The foliage clearly shows how compressed to hell the footage is; bad marketing dude.

Exposure is horrible, inconsistent and dull.
Think the DP knows how to use a light meter? probably not.

We are not here to judge the DoP or the Director!
This is what youtube stream can offer -take it or live it!
I can only say, that if you are "pro" enough you can see what this camera can do ,even if you watch it in 420p......
My 2 cents

I myself appreciate the Japanese approach to what an image can look like. They have an appreciation for pastels and low contrast that is unique, and frankly the world would be boring if everybody made their images contrasty, snappy, etc.

I see a little inconsistency in the color correction, but so what? I think it's appropriate to maybe be critical of the camera performance, but not necessarily of the work of the filmmakers.

Besides, the more approaches I view of footage from the cam, the more I learn.

+1 on the pastel comments.

I particularly love the shot where the camera is passed through one of the classroom windows as the two girls look out through the window. Like I said the directing and camera moves itself are really good no doubt, but c'mon use a DP and show us what that baby can do!

Very cool. If you watch 2:00 - 2:08 you can see the sun come out from the clouds which made it in the final cut. Likely because getting the actress to cry on multiple takes is quite difficult. damn sun!

I hardly ever thinks anything looks good on youtube but the worst thing was I didn't understand what the story was about. Some subtitles could have helpt.

Oh man, really bad. They've deinterlaced the image. You can see it clearly on the first image. Resolution is halved with stairstepping all over the place.

Seriously?

I see what you mean, but since there's other shots without it, I myself think it's Youtube compression.

Unfortunately for me, I understood it, even more unfortunate for me is I had to live through bad acting and being aware of it.

Clearly this short was designed to not be shot to serve the story entirely but to include a number of shots that may be typically used. See final shot as an example.

Overall however, and this is only youtube, from this and that photogenik (don't make me say that name again....please) piece this camera is starting to look very promising.

EDIT TO ADD: Story wasnt bad in this one.

Ive seen this on compressed internet clips with cameras that achieve high res and have a little too much sharpness dialled in. Can happen on the C300.
