Settle A Bet

Im having an argument with someone...he claims....that the motion blur you can activate in AE will effect pre-made videos imported into AE already edited.Meaning animated something in C4D and import the quicktime and just click the motion blur box and now theres motion blur. I say that the motion blur only effects actual layers of graphics that have been motion animated in AE. Does this make sense?

One way to test it is move a ball across the screen in C4D and run it through the programs.

It has to be with the actual layers. How in the world would AE know to motion blur elements within a video?

Motion blur does not effect video footage.

@Gord....I did just that. I imported an animation out of c4d...added motion blur in ae....nothing....what i expected.

I knew I was right.lol. now im trying to figure out a way to explain?show this hard headed fool, hahaha

You need a plugin in to that...Reel Smart Motion Blur. This may singlehandedly be the most useful plugin for After Effects, especially if you're trying to save time with 3D renders.
