I'm a film DP doing a doc in which the director will shoot some interviews on her own with the 100A. The doc may have a film finish but not for sure. We will also be shooting some super 16mm on film at 24fps and transferring to video in telecine. The two sources will be mixed in the final piece. The whole project will go through color correction in a Davinci. Trying to figure out what settings the 100a should be placed in. I'm figuring 24 regular (vs. advanced) and cine gamma. Not sure about 24advanced or not...any suggestions would be welcome.

Re: Settings for a mixed source doc.

cinegamma is a good idea...

using standard or advance will depend on what you'll be editing with. If you're editing in a 60i timeline, then standard will be what you want....but if you're editing in FCP or Vegas, and you'll have a 24P timeline, then you'll want to shoot in advance.

Basically, 24P, when viewed in regular NTSC, will become "standard" in the end...it's just 24P footage with a 3:2 pulldown. 24P advance is a different way of recording the 24P onto 60i which is easier to remove, when using programs that accept 24P advance material.

Clarification:

Material will be off-lined on an Avid. Not sure which model. Online will probably happen in a flame or similar.
