setting WB to 4000K

is it possible to do this, and if not, why not? presets exist for 3200k and 5600k but they do not yield the WB i require. is there a way to program the dvx for say 4000k?

You can go into the scene file in the menu and change the color temp - however it is in a arbitrary scale -7 to +7 - You can prob get the look you want but I am not sure if the steps correspond to any specific temp change.
 
You can set preset to 3200 and get a CTO filter to correct the source (4000K) to the camera. Any book on cinematography explains which filter to use.

But I think the best thing is still to manually white balance for your source. Just make sure you have a true white-balance card, white t-shirts don't work very well :shocked:
