Setting up my D5200 for video

Hi all,

I have just bought a nikon D5200 which I want to setup for video. The price was just too good to ignore.

The camera will be used mainly for outdoor/weather videography. I am planning to buy a nikon 17-35 and maybe the 28-70 and get the aperture declicked (any advice on where to get this done in Melbourne, Australia, would be great!). I now have to decide on how to set this up - I guess the easy way is to just stick a variable ND filter on the front, or is it better to go for matte box setup and buy a couple of ND filters to drop in. Then there is the issue with exposing correctly, I haven't decided yet whether it's worth buying a separate monitor/EVF. Decisions, decisions!

Thanks for the pointers Samuel! I don't mind dropping money on things that hold value or will be useful for years to come. If a good variable ND will make my life easier and last for many years, I'll certainly consider it. The idea of a cheap set of screw-in filters is tempting though. Thanks again.
