Setting up DVX for RT Capture into FCP4.

Anyone know the exact details of how to set up the DVX to be firewire out to a laptop through device control in final cut pro. I remember people posting about this before the Forum was updated, and now I can't find it.

People were talking about how in FCP you have to hit record, and get used to the Flashing No Tape signal indication. I need to know what menu items need to be on to let the dvx work with FCP, also, what you really need to do in FCP to get it in and be able to preview it.

I keep getting a black screen in FCP that keeps telling me, waiting for timecode. I know i'm probably doing something wrong.
 
What my equipment is:

17" powerbook (from mid 2003)
LaCie d2 120 GB External HD
512 MB Ram
FCP 4

The LaCie has 2 firewire ports on the back of it. I'm assuming that's where I'm putting my dvx firewire cable into, since the lacie has to be plugged into the Only single powerbook firewire slot. So, am I capable of doing this or not? Please let me know.

When I try to record with everything like that, I get a message on my DVX that says "EXTERNAL DV DISCONNECT"... please help.
