Setting up CS4 720 30p

Hi,
I'm new to the HMC150 and AVCHD. Was wondering if someone could help me set up a project in Premiere Pro CS4. I can't seem to find AVCHD sequence presets for my footage, which was shot in 720 30p (I've since read that this is something that may be forthcoming in a future update). So I transcoded to DVCPRO HD, but don't see a 720 30p setting (only 720 24p). I then tried using the XDCAM EX 720 30p setting, but when I drop the footage into the timeline, I've got a long render, and then the footage is jerky with some lost frames. I'm on a fast machine -- quad core 3ghz, 4 gigs of ram. Any idea on how I should set this up?

Thanks!

Do you see any AVCHD presets? If not then it sounds like you have the trial version, which doesn't support AVCHD because of licensing restrictions (not really Adobe's fault, PITB).

If you are using registered version (not trial), then you should update to version 4.2.1, and presets for AVCHD and few more will appear.

If you can't update premiere your only option is to transcode your footage. You should also be aware of premiere cs4 bug with AVCHD, do a quick forum search on chroma interlace bug. I also found out about it here. Now I transcode my footage before any adobe import. Hopefully this issue will be fixed in cs5.
Your processor will also be happier with something else, quad core and 4gb ram is entry level for smooth avchd workflow
