Setting Free Run Problem

Please help, shoot tommorow.

I put in a blank tape in each cam
Im using one remote for both cams
I initialized the cams
I set the time and date exactly the same on each cam

I then followed the DVX Book of Barrys to set up for Free Run

When I follow all the steps in the book and exit the menu each camera is in Free Run- But- 1 camera has a different time code than the other???

I have not run the tapes at all. Why would 1 cam have different Free Run timecode than the other?


The only thing I can think I did wrong is not correctly Initialize the Timecode Preset. What I did was go in and set each cam to 00 00 00 00 (all zero)

Now when I go back to that window its reflecting what the timecode is running at. On 1 cam its 20 23 48 10 and on the toher cam its 00 58 01 09.

I just did this yesterday on a shoot, so it's relatively fresh.

Set them to free run, and preset. Then go initialize the tc preset, and set it to 0/0/0/0. It'll ask you whether you want to save the preset. When you say "yes" it'll start the timecode running at zero, and it'll be sync'd. You can do all the steps except the final preset confirmation by the menu, you should just be sure to make that final "yes" selection by the remote so they're all sync'd.
 
Oh! Thank you Barry. Honestly I was following the instructions in your book as well and could not get it. Searching through the forums I have noticed many people have been confused by page 50. Maybe you could clarify this point of setting free run first and then the preset with the remote last for the next edition. Thanks again!
