GH2 Setting exposure in GH2

I am traveling for a shoot in May and in order to keep it light I am planning to bring my GH2 instead of my AF100. No monitor, just the camera and lens shooting b-roll and a few interviews. The lack of zebra stripes concerns me, though. Is there a good link someone can point me to which might help me in using the histogram or other in-camera tools for setting exposure? I've searched the site but can't narrow down the search results. Is there a hack which allows zebras on the GH2?

Thanks!

You can turn highlights on where the display will flash anything that is clipping. It's not as good as zebras, but I do find it helps, along with the histogram. I pretty regularly use my variND filter outdoors, and there setting exposure is really pretty easy. I dial in the ISO, fstop and shutter speed I want and then just watch the image, histogram and watch for clipped highlights as I adjust my variND. Personally, I feel like if you have a little experience exposing shots (which judging by the fact you have an AF-100 it would seem you do) that these three tools are pretty intuitive, and it's not too hard to get the right exposure, assuming your in a scene that your gh2 can handle. Let us know if you want more information about any of this and I can probably go into a bit more detail.

When you have the histogram visible and adjust the exposure/the histogram will flash white when the GH2 deems the exposure optimal.

It may just be an approximation by the camera, but worked for me in most situations.

I've never had an issue with using the exposure meter, if your a bit unsure, I would underexpose by a half stop, the gh2 is pretty good at lifting shadows without to much issue. I would also expose for highlights, which by doing what I said earlier is about the same, underexpose 1/2 stop.

Not with any of the tools on the camera, no. If you're trying to get it that precise, then you may need to get an external monitor with false color.
