setting auto shutter speed

this might be a stupid question. i have a hvx here for testing. i need a setting where iris, wb, gain are manual and shutter-speed is automatic. i tried and read but i could not find an auto function for the shutter speed? is it only manual?

Shutter speed is never automatically -- you have to set it yourself.

the sony's have automatic shutter speed. i know from a cineatic perspective there's no use for automatic shutter-speeds but i need it for filmtransfers. o.k. thanks for your answer i dont have to search any longer.

There is no auto shutter, it is a guided in Camera word. Auto simply means it automatially set the shutter to the mode you shoot in.,Example: 60p, shutter is 1/60th.

the sony cams can auto shutter or auto expose whatever you want to call it. you can leave the shutter in auto mode to let the camera expose the picture if the iris is maual. this is very handy if you want to have fixed depth of field while still have the camera auto expose the picture.
