A new short that I filmed on the DVX. I made it for a 5 minute festival but I didn't doublespace the script so 5 pages was actually 10 minutes.. so we have a short and long version.

The short version has a few different takes but is mostly a tightened and shorter version.

Yeah you're right. We had some trouble as I used compressor to make mp4s but at large progressive it's 60 MB
Small didn't give me any sound
CD gave me sound and video but the sound was way sped up
And modem had no sound either. And I still can't get mp2 to work... so finally I did it in mp1 and coverted to dvx... I'll have to find a way to get mp4 to work at a decent size

Suggestions?

liked the shots when they got into the car, and it sure took an interesting turn once the coke and needles came out?! he he. But the rest of the angles were pretty dull. I don't know if you had a strick time-limit to film/edit but next effort out try and get more of a shot selection. Push in tight on your actors and vary the shots more. The ending was pretty funny. Also, did you get permission to use the SETI program and name in the movie? just curious.
 
Didn't really get the excessive partying scenes. Didn't really look like it was shot on a dvx. Also, it looks like you didn't manually white balance on the scene where they get int he car, the car doors shut. It's really blue. Good job on entering in a film festival! The short kinda had an interesting story. Keep it up and thanks for posting.
