Servo Zoom Short

About a week ago, I took the bottom base plate of my 100B off just to dust under it and tighten the tripod screw plate. I noticed the two gears visible by the opening in the front of the camera that control the zoom. Just to see how it works. I zoomed with the servo and saw the 2 gears touch and then zoom. I never actually touched them though. I rarely actually use the auto zoom. Just for smooth shots and slow creeping zooms. Now after not using it for a week, both zoom levers mysteriously aren't working. I verified that the 2 gears are not stuck and they are coming together when I switch from manual zoom to servo zoom. I tried the handle zoom in all 3 positions and the rocker, but it doesn't even make a slight sound of attempting to zoom when I hold it up to my ear. I can't seem to get ahold of the usual repair place I go to in LA. Would this be worth fixing because it would probably be quite a lot to replace either the board controlling it or the servo motors. I can definitely live without it but I am planning on in maybe a year or 2 sell my DVX for an HMC and I doubt anyone would buy one that isn't fully working. Any other suggestions?

i read this but i duno what to tell yah man....if u dont see if as a prob then i;d say just work with it and learn to do those slow creeps manually ( that mite be a biatch :)) In regards to selling though...ur prolly goin to need it fixed cuz unless its goin to be sold to some experienced person who can deal with that....then it will lower ur pool of potential buyers. And i dont think many experienced people will be buying a dvx in a year or 2...maybe some people that wanna break into filming and need a cheaper but good camera with pro controls, but they are gonna prolly want that auto zoom at first. I personally hardly ever use it....but it has its uses.
