Servo zoom noise.

I got the new DVX100AE just yesterday and as usual I read manual after touching all buttons...

When I took my cam first time, I place the UV filter (this I did well) and after I turn focus ring (to feel it) as well as zoom ring (about two times). This zoom ring turned a bit hard.

Reason was that switch was in SERVO instead of MANUAL.

Of course in the manual is written do not turn the ring while you are in Servo.

Now, I want to check with some of you following. You turn the cam on, put in Zoom Manual. Turn the zoom by hand.

Connect SERVO. When y click the zoom lever I heard a "clack" (like coupling noise) and after it works fine without noise.

Do you think I damaged the servo mechanism because of two turns by hand in SERVO position ?

Thanks a lot.

Re: Servo zoom noise.

sometimes mine makes a gear engaging noise when i swith to servo zoom , but havent torqued it in servo mode.. it works fine. i think its just when the lense is in a certain position , and the gears dont quite line up when you switch, and then they click into place. ive never worried about it.
