I am desperate to get my hands on this lens. Anybody know when it really comes out? There's so many conflicting dates, I don't know what to believe anymore.

From what I have read it is available now but they are working off of their list of pre-orders from Nov.

the 12mm has a f/1.6 max aperature.

assuming it gets a wide release, where do we go to get it? slr magic ebay page?

I wrote to the SLR Magic contact email address in December and expressed my interest. support@slrmagic.com

Ten days later, they responded telling me that I was placed in the queue. Then, about a week later, I received notice that I would get a January shipment and they sent me a PayPal invoice. I don't have the lens yet, but this seems to be how you get one.
 
Got mine on December 27th.... It's a super super super awesome lens. WHen I get out of the weeds on some production work, I'm going to cut a demo reel. I think this lens is everybit as good as the Nokton .95 and it's exactly what I wanted in a wide angle. I like it more than the Tokina 11-16 for sure... My only problems is that I should have bought 10 of them and sold them all for a profit! LOL... I kid....


They are very very honest and reputable people so don't worry about it. Mine also only took 2 days to arrive from CHina.... I simply think it's going to stay on my camera for a long time. The thing is BUTTER.
 
Sent a message to Adorama sales regadring when they will have stock on this lens... no reply, but they will certainly take your money on the add to cart page....unreal
Well, they did manage to make use of my email and send spam.

I'll wait for someone else to stock it, or order it direct.

There is a article here that has mentioned some web spottings. May want to keep your eye on the comment section to see if anything pops up. Looks like some European shops have gotten some stock.
 
do you guys think it would be smarter to buy it from adorama at 480$ with free shipping or from the actual sellers at like 499$ with i think shipping fees.
 
I'm on the waiting list for this lens and am expecting to get it in a few weeks time direct from SLR Magic, but they want the payment up front via paypal.

Have people here paid up front and received the lens? It's quite a leap of faith for this amount of money...

Don't you always have to pay straight away when buying something online? Or am I missing something here?

And unless the firm goes bankrupt tomorrow (which I seriously doubt) my knowledge of the company says they are legitimate. Besides, you should have protection via PayPal.

Normally you buy through a known storefront.
This is just a paypal invoice.

I think I'll go for it, as Seb Farges and lots of others have good things to save about them
