Hi again group, ;)

Ok here is my near futur order list, and I just what to double check before if we make the good (or bad) choice for a DVX. I realy need you feed back before spending 10K bu. :-[

Lens:
- 1.6 X tele-Coverter
- 0.7 or 0.6 Wide Angle ???
- VS-FEWA-DVX Fisheye or VS-FE3X-DVX .3X Ultra ??
- Anamorphic (pany)

Mattebox 4x4 and Follow Focus:
- Chrosziel kit for dvx (from ZGC)
- Couple of filters, but dont know what to choose beside pola
and ND ???

Shoot To disk solution storage:
- FireStore FS-1

Mic:
- Sennheiser K6-ME66 on top of the cam in case of ...

I know there's a lot of previous posts on that stuf, but just give me a short feedback.

Thank you guys !

Mark

The Sennheiser is a good starting microphone, but I'd go for the AT4073a, especially if you intend on mounting it on your camera. Its smaller and better quality. Of course, slightly more expensive. Good all around mic but primarily for indoors. If you really want to spend, one of the best is the Sennheiser MKH416.

In fact, looking at your setup, what about the sound? A Chrosziel mattebox and 16:9 adapter is great, but if your microphone is mounted to the camera, well, that footage could be compromised.

Very nice introduction into DV though. You're going to have lots of fun.

on camera mic is fine for run and gun.. although the on camera mics are fantastic.

make sure you get the mattebox that fits the anamorphic though.

... and the 411-53P Chrosziel mattebox you'll need to fit the anamorphic is on backorder... has been for some time.

Re: Serious starter kit: Before I spend 10 000 bu.

but what if he's doing single-man run & gun?

Hi group,

I think my whish list as been modified in a better way !

If I resume:

DirectToDisk: FireStore vs MCE kits
Do you know steve if Avid 3.5 file is supported with this guy ?

Mic: K6ME66 vs AT4073a
MKH416 will be rent as needed I guess

Mattebox: 411-53P back order
Kai you right, I talk yesterday to ZGC and they dont really know when the gear will be in ... By the way I see you have posted on that before. Maybe I'w rent a 6x6 and try to fit the anam on...

But what about lens guys ?????

I need to make choice for tele and wide stuff ?
Does somebody can help me on that dark side ?
I read a lot of topics on lens for DVX, and I'm afraid about ugly sides effects of mounting additional crap lens on the fixed dvx lens...

Thank you

MARK

Hey Mark.. as for the lens, if you are using the ana adapter remember your getting super wide already.. I would not recommend putting a wide on top of the DVX, almost every wide adapter I have seen on the DVX showed less then steller results. As for Tele, It's easy for me to say just get closer, but if you are filming football or something, you may need to get the extender.

Re: Serious starter kit: Before I spend 10 000 bu.

So my best bet is a fisheyes lens ?

Tkx,

Marc
