Just finished watching (like 10 minutes ago) the first DVD in the Firefly set.

For some odd reason, I skipped over "Bushwhacked" the first time I watch the set. Strange.

But a nice surprise. I got to see a "new" episode. :)

Re: SEQUELS WE WANT TO SEE

Oh crap. SCI FI is doing it? It will be full of CGI BS Thing monsters and a total re-hash (remake).

Mine will be better but this will kill any interest in it probally.

Re: SEQUELS WE WANT TO SEE

well it will always depend on who is making the movie if its going to be a worthy sequel.

But here are som films a would like to watch.

Robocop (Only if, starring: Peter Weller, Director: Paul Verhoeven)

Predator Prequel (That old one that throws the gun to Danny Glover in P2, his backstory should they shot. And Director should be Ridley Scott)

Dog Soldiers 2 (I love monster movies, not counting Mimic 2)

Passion of the Christ 2: Judgement day (Just kidding ;) )

Re: SEQUELS WE WANT TO SEE

I'm likin' MovieSwede's picks.

Especially Dog Soldiers 2. At Cinemamuerte Vancouver a couple years ago the Producer was in attendance. He talked about how part 2 was in development but the Director of the first wasn't taking it on because he was working on a King Arthur Heist movie.

I'd also like to see a good sequel to Robocop. With the advances in spfx these days, it could be damn good. Just watched it a couple days ago. Love how he shoots the bad guy who falls out a window to his death. Is Asked what's your name? "Murphy" he replies. The End. Classic Ending!

Though I don't get Sci-Fi Channel, wasn't Children of Dune done for that channel, cuz it was pretty weak. If that is any indication of the mow's they produce, John's movie is safe.

I was disappointed to hear this as well. Work on your version. This is still early in pre-production. You never know, it might fall through. Plus, it's a made-for-TV mini series... how good could it be? I'd love to see a sequel made by a fan. I consider it my favorite movie and I'd hate to see someone **** on it.

Re: SEQUELS WE WANT TO SEE

I actually preferred the made for TV version of DUNE. Much truer to the book. Granted it lacked both production value and Patrick Stewart, but I dug it.

But back to sequels. I think they should make Terminator 4, but this time they send ARNIE waaaay back in time to kill John Connor's ancestor. Say someone like Robin Hood, or King Arthur. So they could wreck the sh*t out of a Terminator using rocks and sticks and cow feces.

Or maybe Columbus, and Arnie is trapped on the Santa Maria getting robot scurvy.

Re: SEQUELS WE WANT TO SEE

Titanic 2: Hunt for the Iceberg - Jack didn't die at the end. He was rescued by some whalers and worked on the boat until he could make it to the US. He then goes looking for Rose and finds her living a VERY happy life (as he told her too), without him. He is devastated. He goes on an epic hunt (with his whaling buddies) to destroy the one thing that destroyed is life. The iceberg!

I will now be accepting offers for this blockbuster. Anything under $1M will be turned down. Your people can call my people.

Re: SEQUELS WE WANT TO SEE

I think working on that film has awakened your creative side there PK ;D

It was more literally faithful to tbe book, but I think the Lynch version had the FEEL of the book more than the Sci-Fi version.

Re: SEQUELS WE WANT TO SEE

I'll agree with that. Still (qualifying with the fact that I'm not a big David Lynch fan.) I had a lot of challenges with the theatrical version. It left a lot out (understandable, given the length of the book), and I didn'tlike some of the casting, including Kyle as Paul. But mostly, I found that Lynch got the vibe right at the expense of the characters. They were rather thinly drawn, and the characters were what I loved about the book. As much as it was an imaginative and dense story (rivaling LOTR IMHO), it was the people in the story that kept me intrigued, page after page. Lynch went for spectacle, which he got, but I doubt few people who hadn't read the book really understood what the hell was going on.

Re: SEQUELS WE WANT TO SEE

That, I can't disagree with -- and at the same time, the (Lynch) movie makes the book more understandable.

In the Sci-Fi version, though, everything was so shiny and bright, not really befitting a civilization 2/3 of the way down a long road of decline. Yet, Stillgar had justice done to him.

Re: SEQUELS WE WANT TO SEE

As an aside, they should have spent their efforts more on "Messiah" than on "Children," because the two hours devoted to "Messiah" were really good, while the remaining four, well, weren't.

Re: SEQUELS WE WANT TO SEE

I actually liked Children of Dune the miniseries. I thought it was pretty well done. I enjoyed the dune miniseries but found it hard getting past the cheapness of the production. People standing in front of painted backdrops pretending to be in the desert just didnt cut it for me.

Re: SEQUELS WE WANT TO SEE

Yes, there were definite problems with production value. They probably spent too much on William Hurt.
